An accountant with thirty-plus years of experience, Dianne grew up in Abilene, graduating as part of the first class from Cooper High School. She attended Texas Tech University and received a Bachelor of Science degree. Her work experience includes local accounting firms in Houston, where she went after graduating from Tech, and in Abilene; eight years of corporate accounting with Fortune 100 company Occidental Petroleum Corporation in Houston and in Los Angeles, California, where she was promoted and transferred to the corporate headquarters, and with ITW Plastiglide, a publicly-held manufacturing company; and several years with a business management firm for individuals in the entertainment industry in LA.
In 1996, Dianne returned to Abilene from California and focused on auditing local schools, municipalities and non-profit organizations with governmental grant funding (with a local CPA firm) before becoming part-time Office Manager of Just People, Inc. and part-time accountant with a local CPA firm working with Harmony Family Services, Inc. Being able to participate in a program which creates real opportunities for underprivileged individuals to make personal progress, such as Just People, is a dream come true for Dianne, who worked with several homeless assistance programs in Los Angeles, and spoke and prayed with many homeless persons on the streets there.
She also uses her accounting and leadership abilities serving on the boards of directors and as treasurer of several local non-profit organizations (as a volunteer): Breakfast on Beech Street (B.O.B.S.); Mental Health Association in Abilene; Adult Protective Services Partners, Inc.; Northwest Texas Chapter of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation; and has been treasurer and past president of the Abilene Branch of the American Association of University Women. She attends the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest.
As part of the enrichment she has enjoyed in the various cities where she has lived, Dianne particularly appreciated being able to see performances by numerous ballet companies, and visiting many art galleries and special exhibits. Ballet and art are two things she particularly enjoys, along with performances by the Abilene Philharmonic.
She lives with her mother, Jennie Morphew, and enjoys her two (each) nieces and nephews who are the children of her brother, David Morphew, and his wife Marcie who live in Del City (Oklahoma City), Oklahoma. She also loves her two dogs, Buddy and Daisy, and cat Sweetie Pie, who make daily life entertaining.
